We provide a full range of immunisations, including those for new-born babies; those for travellers; annual flu vaccination; and those required for older patients, such as the pneumococcal and shingles vaccine. Vaccination is extremely important as it protects against serious illness and complications from preventable diseases.
COVID Vaccinations
Patients eligible for COVID vaccination can book their vaccination via the national COVID booking system or contact 119. Care home patients and those that are housebound will be contacted to arrange their vaccination.
Current eligibility criteria for Covid vaccination are 1 or more of the following:
- aged 65 or over
- pregnant
- aged 6 months to 64 years and have an increased risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19 because of a health condition or treatment
- living in a care home for older adults
Childhood vaccinations
The NHS recommends specific vaccinations at certain stages throughout childhood.

To make an appointment for your child’s vaccination, please use the options at the top of the page. For certain vaccinations for new-borns, we recommend giving paracetamol to your child beforehand. You should bring your personal child health record (or “red book”) to all your child’s vaccination appointments.

- Haemophilus influenzae type b (HIB)
- Polio
- Tetanus
- Pertussis (Whooping cough)

Adult vaccinations
There are many immunisations that are important to have as an adult.
We provide the full range of NHS immunisations for adults, including one-off and annual vaccinations.
Diseases that are prevented by adult vaccination include:
- Pneumococcal (pneumonia)
- Herpes Zoster (shingles)
- Influenza (Flu)
- Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
- Pertussis (whooping cough, given in pregnancy)

Travel vaccinations
Haxby Group provides travel vaccines available through the NHS.
Haxby Group provides NHS travel vaccinations to protect against diseases that would represent the greatest risk to public health if they were to come into the UK.
We can give you general advice about travel vaccinations and travel health, such as protecting yourself from malaria. We can also give you any doses of your UK vaccines that you may have missed.
However, not all travel vaccinations are available on the NHS. For non-NHS travel vaccines, you will need to contact a private travel vaccination clinic, or a pharmacy offering travel healthcare services.
